About Daye

Daye is a highly ambitious female health platform. We operate in a strongly monopolised, low-innovation industry, with the aim of rebuilding the relationship between women and their health. We deliver on our mission with products rooted in scientific rigour, and inspired by female intuition.

After 3 years of R&D, our products were first launched to market in spring 2020. Our D2C ecommerce-centered business model is currently operational in 8 EU geographies, soon expanding to the US.

Daye is a values-driven organisation. From the onset, we baked our core values into the DNA of the company - our products are created by women, who survived sexual trafficking; we regularly invest in material science to reduce pollution through innovation like our water-soluble tampon wrappers; and work daily to overcome historical gender biases in medical research and product innovation.

About The Opportunity

Daye is looking for a Frontend Developer to work out of our London office. To support our growth, we’re looking for an experienced and hugely talented software engineer to help us build our e-commerce website and female health platform.

You’ll be working closely with our founder and Head of Software to bring our vision to life and you’ll be involved in every stage of the process; from prototyping our initial ideas to building our full product.

Skillset Requirements

• Deep knowledge and experience of Javascript and the React ecosystem (especially React v16.8 and above)
• Love for building high quality user interfaces and bringing designs to life (animations, transitions)
• Experience working on e-commerce sites
• Experience with speed, SEO and accessibility optimisation best practices
• Experience with unit testing and end-to-end testing

As the only frontend engineer for our e-commerce, you should obsess over the quality of what the team delivers. Whether that be the quality and maintainability of our code or making sure we identify and squash every bug out there. As an e-commerce business, we understand that every millisecond counts when it comes to page speed.

Responsibilities

• Developing our ecommerce and female health platform frontend in React
• A well-structured frontend application making use of React, Redux, and other libraries in the React ecosystem
• Making our content highly interactive and scalable
• Translating our designs into interactive pages while making sure all our content is editable and reusable
