Women and people who menstruate have long been dismissed, talked over and often ignored by health providers. At Favor, we know this because many of us have lived it. We’re evolving from a single-point solution focused on birth control delivery & reproductive healthcare to a digital health platform that offers prescription skin care, over-the-counter skin care, period care, and other sexual wellness items. As an Engineering Manager, you’ll use your extensive experience to grow and build a world-class engineering team. You’ll work cross-functionally with product management, design, and our medical staff to understand our patients’ and providers’ needs and build appropriate solutions. You’ll drive for excellence in architecture and code, while being a mentor and providing coaching to your team. We build our software with a modern, cloud-based technology stack and use agile methodologies to implement our process and roadmap.

You will:

• Build, grow, and manage a full-stack team of engineers who build the services and systems to enable our clinical team to deliver first-class healthcare to our patients
• Partner closely with product management and design counterparts to define the team’s roadmap and goals
• Drive engineering practices across your team and the wider engineering organization to improve technical efficiency, quality, sustainability, and reliability
• Scale your team by attracting and closing a diverse group of world-class engineers, working with leadership to define the team’s hiring needs
• Manage your team’s process and roadmap

You have:

• BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• At least five years of professional experience working as a software engineer
• Comfort wearing multiple hats as needed in a startup environment
• Managed a team of engineers for at least 2 years, with responsibility for delivering measurable outcomes and managing timelines
• Excitement about using technology to deliver great customer experiences. You want to apply your skills in the service of a greater mission.
• Experience building web applications, REST APIs, and/or mobile applications
• Track record of data-driven decision making
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to challenge assumptions

Even better if you have:

• Experience with any of our tech stack: Java and Spring for back-end web applications; React and React Native on the front-end; Infrastructure including Terraform, Docker, AWS
• Experience working in healthcare, including HIPAA familiarity
• Experience facilitating complex operational workflows
